“Hero” at K9s for Warriors
"Hero" has found a new home. The picture here is the Trusted Guardian German Shepherds family taking Hero to K9s for Warriors where he will truly become a hero to one of our military men or women. As of last week, Hero has joined the training program at K9s for Warriors, the nation’s largest provider of service dogs to military veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury and/or Military Sexual Trauma as a result of military service post-9/11. His new name is "Heldon," a version of "Hero" in German (since he is a German Shepherd). In about a year to a year and a half, when Hero graduates from this program, we will post an update. At that time, he will be matched with a serviceman or servicewoman in need.
