We have a very special dog now available. This is a dog we bred and donated to K9s for Warriors who train dogs for veterans. The dog, named Heldon, is an AKC German Shepherd; he is a young adult (born April 13, 2019). Click here to see Heldon as a baby (we called him “Hero” at the time).
Heldon made it nearly all the way through the K9s for Warriors training program, but did not graduate because he sometimes (not always) barks at other dogs while on walks in public. While he did not complete the program, he has been extensively trained. He performs his commands quickly and without effort, though a bonding/adjustment period may be required with a new owner. Here are a few of the many things Heldon has been taught:
* All Regular Obedience Training (Come, Heel, Sit, Down, Stay)
* Fully Housebroken and Crate Trained
*"Stand" - Creates & Maintains Distance Between Two People
*"Brace" - Allows Owner to Use Dog to Help Stand from a Chair or Pull Up from Kneeling
* "Lap" - Puts Front Paws in Owner's Lap, Applying Pressure by Leaning to Comfort Owner
* "Look" - Sits Next to the Owner, Facing Backwards, Watching Who Is Behind Them (Needs Practice)
* 1.5 Years Old, Neutered, Perfect Health, UTD on Vaccines
* Due to his extensive training, Heldon is $3,500 - and worth every penny!
