ABOUT THEIR PUPPIES

The mother of this litter is Java, a black-and-red short stock coat AKC German Shepherd. She has an incredible temperament – the perfect combination of protector and playmate all rolled into one strong, toned and gorgeous dog. Like her father (Rex), Java has boundless energy making her always ready for a game of fetch, and like her mother (Abbey), she is a solid guard dog with a gentle, easy-to-manage personality. A super intelligent dog, since puppyhood, Java has been very easy to train, obeys every command, and is surprisingly “talkative” with the family.

The father of this litter is Lustig Er Amadeus Burg (“Lustig” for short), a black-and-red long stock coat German Shepherd. Lustig is a European import from Kyiv, Ukraine, and the son of a 4x VA (“excellent select”) champion, the highest attainable award granted at the annual Sieger show.  Lustig is a well-built, muscular German Shepherd. He loves to play, but is always very calm, cool and collected. He is fiercely loyal, protective of home and family, yet he is gentle as a lamb with family members and guests. Lustig is registered with both the Ukranian Kennel Union and the AKC, which means his offspring will be AKC puppies.

The puppies in this litter are $2,300 each, and they will be ready for their new homes in late June. Even though Lustig is a long-haired German Shepherd, long coats are a recessive trait, so while it is possible Java and Lustig will produce a few long-coated offspring, we expect their puppies to be mostly black-and-red short-stock or plush coats; it is not possible to tell which coat type they will have until they are at least six weeks old. You can see what their past puppies look like here.

While all of the puppies are basically black now, their markings and coloration will develop and change dramatically over time. To see an example of how this happens, take a look at our “Watch Me Grow” page.

Trusted Guardian AKC German Shepherd puppies out of Java x Lustig are $2,300 each. They are dewormed at two, four, and seven-and-a-half weeks of age. They will come with their first set of puppy shots, a thorough exam by our vet, and a one-year health guarantee. To learn more about reserving or purchasing a puppy, click here.

A Glimpse Inside Our Kennel

For those of you who may not get to see the inside of our kennel due to COVID-19 precautions, we wanted to give you a glimpse right here. We take great pride in our kennel; it takes a lot of work to keep it this clean. As you can see, it is set up like a kitchen in a home so that puppies become accustomed to all the sights and sounds that will take place in their new home - including a dishwasher, blender and washer/dryer. The puppies get regular baths and are played with both inside and outside by our children, our gramma, and (when we don’t have COVID-19 concerns) by our friends as well. It’s a beautiful setting for them to get a healthy, happy start!
